Webrings
- Why do you like webrings so much?
- For a long time webrings created a usuable alternative to search
engines. However, they have become completely useless wastes of time now,
simply magnets for attracting spam and serving no useful purpose.
- What's the big deal with Yahoo! and Webrings?
- Yahoo! destroyed the Webring.Org system which had hosted tens of
thousands of lovingly created web communities in the name of greater
profits. Yahoo webring is no longer in existence. It was purchased by one
of the original engineers who worked on Webring. At first it appeared
the new webring would work out, but it has since become just another useless
commercial gimmick without any real value to anyone.
